About time too …

…. I seem to have been so busy with everything and not managed to get a post out for so long.  Feel I’ve got so much to show but I’ll start with a couple of bits and hopefully get the rest out in the very near future.

My latest big project is the applique flowers and stars quilt, I so love this, can’t wait to get teaching and seeing all the different colour combinations.

The quilt is made up of twelve applique blocks and surrounded by stars in the sashing.  The fabric was a lovely Birthday present from my sister Roz, I just added the blues for the background.  The fabric was bought in Chalk Hill Blue Patchwork shop in Worthing, West Sussex.

It’s machine pieced and was quilted by Lavender Path Quilts on the long arm.

I’ve been asked by Sewing Together quilt group to teach a Stained Glass Window workshop, the ladies want to make a small piece for a cushion or wall hanging.  I already have some stained glass patterns but decided it was time to design and new one.  I’ve always wanted to make a roses design in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh so got my pencils out and drew a few samples, this was my favourite.

I’ve sent pictures to the group so they can get their fabrics together, looking forward to teaching the technique.

Been busy teaching at Hometown in Rochester, currently running the Big Tilda Stars Course for the second time, it’s amazing to see the different fabrics used and how different they all look.

I’ve also been teaching the very popular French Braid Quilt, have to say this is one of my all time favourite quilts, and I think the students would agree.

And my final make was finished this morning, this small ‘bowl filler’ was a project at the quilt group last night, love how it’s turned out, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
